Patient Retention

Acceptance

Acceptance

Patients are required to follow long-term treatments for their disease itself or to prevent any potential health risks. Patient acceptance of their medication influences behavior towards treatment.

Compliance

Compliance

Patients’ behavior and attitude toward their treatment most probably result from a complex, yet not fully understood, evaluation of treatment benefits and risks by the patients themselves. Non compliance leads to compromised health benefits and serious economic consequences in terms of wasted time, money and uncured disease. Ensuring adherence brings results, achieving therapeutic goal with minimal adverse effects. This triggers lifestyle changes and increases quality of life.

Persistence

Persistence

Represents the duration of time from initiation to discontinuation of therapy, is reported as a continuous variable in terms of number of days for which the therapy was available. Clinical outcomes are affected not only by how well patients take their medications but also by how long they take them. On-line and off-line tools help to prevent drop-out and insure best outcomes.

Our Adherence Module takes on all aspects of patient journey and intervenes in all three aspects, using complex strategies and communication with the patient.

patient adherence

The types of interventions used to increase patient adherence have different success rates. CEBIS uses a mix of proven strategies that have at their core specialized interactions with nurses or psychologists, with experience in patient communication, specialized interactions and adherence.

  • We evaluate adherence to the treatment using indirect methods such as self report from patients, pill counts, prescription reordering, electronic medicine monitoring and therapeutic effect to form an assessment of adherence. We use validated scales that give us initial information about the patient and adherence habits and we fine tune our assessment using both hard and soft data from our interactions with the patient.
  • Our communications with the patients are specially designed taking into consideration the risk of non adherence (medium-high and low), as it has been measured for each patient.
  • We employ only doctors, psychologists, nurses and educators, specialized in adherence, that communicate with the physicians and the patients. We even use our in-house call-center with specialized nurses performing activities with and for the patients. We use a single point of contact (nurse) for each patient, throughout the patient journey.
  • Our adherence oriented activities are completed with Behavioral Factor Management (mood management) implemented with the help of our Psychological Counseling Specialists.

We are using technology based interventions – PSP eMed – in order to achieve the highest adherence rates for the enroled patients.
